This tree lives at our nursery in St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba.

It is a Plains Cottonwood Female.  This tree is over 250 years old.

There is a legend that a previous resident hid a cache of

gold on the site that our nursery now exists.  Perhaps

when we dig a tree one day we will find the treasure.

There was a log house very close to this tree which was moved to

the Cuthbert Grant Memorial Park.  This log house was

owned and lived in by Cuthbert Grant relatives.
